Job Description: The Purchasing Assistant assists the Purchasing Manager, Sr. Buyers and Category Managers to perform a variety of purchasing functions including processing and expediting orders in a timely manner. The Purchasing Assistant maintains the Materials Management System in relation to Purchasing. Major Responsibilities: 1. Responsible for processing/expediting orders, and/or purchasing orders for materials and services within area of responsibility. 2. Responsible for coordinating the return of material goods to suppliers as needed. 3. Maintains the Materials Management System based on standards determined by management. 4. Supports the Sr Buyers to communicate out of stock concerns, buyer message issues, assists with product substitution procurement, and other tasks as determined appropriate. 5. Assists in maintaining SOPS for the Purchasing Assistant work within the Purchasing Department to reflect current process and procedure. 6. Adheres to regular and predictable attendance. 7. Performs other job-related responsibilities as requested.
