What do you need: High School Diploma or equivalency Completion of an Accredited Pharmacy Technician Training Program or equivalent Pharmacy Technician experience 3 months pharmacy experience Registered with the Wisconsin Department of Safety & Professional Services (WIRPhT) Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or willingness to become certified Gundersen Health System (becoming Emplify Health!) is healthcare for neighbors, by neighbors. Job Description: Under the supervision of a pharmacists, a pharmacy technician organizes medications for dispensing to patients by reading medication orders and/or prescriptions, preparing labels and/or bags, calculating quantities, and compounding sterile and/or non-sterile products. A pharmacy technician participates in medication dispensing and/or delivery while maintaining pharmacy\'s medication management and infection control procedures, policies and regulations. A pharmacy technician will be assigned to a specific area of practice and responsibilities will be applicable to that area. Major Responsibilities: 1. Ability to demonstrate competency of the defined responsibilities of the Pharmacy Technician Trainee. 2. Provides customer service to both patients and Gundersen Health System staff, including triaging of phone calls and non-clinical medication related questions. 3. Obtains accurate information from patients including personal and insurance information, and efficiently enters information into the computer system. 4. Participates in the Transition of Care programs implemented in the Pharmacy. 5. Follows expectations of the Pharmacy Technician Tech-Check-Tech program. 6.
