Actalent Manufacturing Engineer in La Crosse, Wisconsin

Job Title: Manufacturing EngineerJob Description

• Experience with design for manufacturing and design for automation, including automation integration experience. • Evaluate and implement innovative, cost effective, safe, manufacturing processes and techniques, which will improve the effectiveness of the manufacturing operations and business systems. • Develop manufacturing planning, initial tooling requirements and costs, capability requirements, control plans, and assessments, which facilitate the specification of the manufacturing processes. • Provide technical expertise and leadership for the timely resolution of issues related to manufacturing processes and product designs. • Develop and implement manufacturing flows, workstation layouts, and station controls, which optimize value added operations, operating costs, and product/process quality. • Collaborate closely with various functional team members to enhance design for manufacturability and ease of integration to manufacturing facility. Provide regular updates to stakeholders as required. • Utilize project management knowledge and skills alongside cross-functional partners to estimate the time and resources required to complete a project and then manage project execution to the plan.

Hard Skills

  • Experience with large capital equipment projects (investigation, procurement, and implementation) exceeding $200k+

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 12 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in La Crosse, Wisconsin.

Work Environment

This engineer is located in Plant 4 where they manufacture all of the large tonnage boilers & chillers for the commercial division. The group is broken down into specific teams focused on Tooling, Machining, Advanced Manufacturing with Capital projects, and Welding/fab operations. The engineering group has 30 or so engineers in manufacturing and plans to grow to 50 soon.
