BorgWarner Inc. Sr. Systems Test Lead in Kokomo Technical Center, Indiana

DUTIES: BorgWarner PDS (USA), Inc. seeks a Sr. Systems Test Lead based out of our office at 2151 E. Lincoln Road, Kokomo, IN 48902. Note, this is a hybrid position whereby the employee will work from the aforementioned office address; from our technical center, 13975 BorgWarner Drive, Noblesville, IN 46060; and from home. Hence, the employee must live within a reasonable commuting distance of the aforementioned office addresses. Note, this position does not require travel.

Manage system and software verification tasks on projects and maintain the overall verification status; Lead the team of test engineers to meet the project deliveries; Raise any concerns to senior management on time; Drive the organization goal for 100% test automation; Oversee the testing activities for the power semiconductor devices; Lead efforts to migrate the automation framework from NI TestStand to Tracetronic ECU-Test; Develop AVL-Power HiL bench testing capability for system-level validation and black-box automated testing of three-phase inverters and respective motor controls; Develop dyno bench testing capability for system-level validation and black-box automated testing of three-phase inverters and respective motor controls; Design and build low-voltage and high-voltage automated test benches for inverter testing in a complete NI environment; Increase test coverage by developing and debugging automated test scripts in NI TestStand and Tracetonic ECU-Test environments; Facilitate pre-verification events with global software and systems teams to track changes and develop test plan for maximum test coverage; Ensure test management and automation assignments for verification with compliance of A-SPICE process activities which includes peer reviews, report generation, and traceability; Delegate Product Development team meetings related to hardware and software from test management and automation team for mitigating risks and resolving roadblocks related to verification activities; Monitor project planning and progress files on Polarion, SharePoint, and JIRA; Participate in product reviews and collaborate with validation and EMC teams for automation of the ECUs validation in the production stage; Train a group of engineers on the testing and development process of automated test benches.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or Physics and 36 months of experience in the job offered or closely related. Required experience must include: Experience with electrification automotive applications; Experience using hardware and / or software test platforms; Experience writing test specifications on requirements, as well as, designs; Experience executing tests on different environments (e.g., vehicle, bench, HiL); Experience with DSpace / NI / CANTools (CANstress, CANoe, etc.); Experience with Excel / XML / XLST standards; Experience with Matlab / Simulink; Experience with controls type software, Labview, and tests.
