Nexstar Media Group Multimedia Storyteller in Knoxville, Tennessee
WATE-TV, Knoxville’s ABC affiliate, is looking for a Multimedia Storyteller for our daily, one-hour lifestyle show, Living East Tennessee. The right candidate will be active and community oriented. This person must be a good writer and storyteller, a solid editor, be detail-oriented, creative, and organized. Successful candidate will also work well under pressure and be able to multi-task. Must have positive energy, a great on-air presence, and a minimum of 2 years’ experience in MMJ broadcast TV storytelling. Producing experience preferred. This is a full-time position.
Job Responsibilities:
Shoots, writes and edits story content, including stand-ups for daily broadcast content
Collaborates with Producers and team on content generation
Serves as back-up to Producer and Studio host.
Makes a variety of community connections through out east Tennessee
Collaborates with account executives on sponsored segments
Maintains video and editing equipment
Contributes to digital and social media content
Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements & Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
Minimum two years’ experience in broadcast TV storytelling
Proficiency with video recording equipment
Proficiency with video editing equipment, Premiere and BitCentral
Experience with ENPS
Knowledge of lighting techniques and on camera presentation skills
Understanding of social media use for content promotion
Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Flexibility to work any shift
