Job Title: Medical Laboratory Technician
Job Description
The Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) performs specific procedures for the screening and controlling of material used in the processing, manufacture, and distribution of blood and plasma products. The MLT independently performs, interprets, and troubleshoots laboratory procedures related to unit and/or donor suitability testing and other assays as required. They develop proficiency in laboratory information systems and workflow of samples. The MLT performs routine analytical testing using manual and automated methods and procedures, analyzing test results against set controls. The role involves completing maintenance and Quality Control (QC) per Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and working within the current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) guidelines while adhering to all regulatory standards within the lab. The MLT shares information with internal contacts with a common desire to reach a solution and follows all safety regulations, Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) policies, and rules. They operate analytical instrumentation and technical laboratory equipment, perform and document troubleshooting and calibration of instruments, and conduct routine preventative maintenance of assigned instruments and equipment according to established schedules and procedures.
