Description

We are offering an exciting opportunity in Knoxville, Tennessee, for a Human Resources Payroll Benefits Specialist. As a part of our team, you will be instrumental in handling various HR and payroll-related tasks. These tasks range from maintaining employee records, assisting with the onboarding process, managing payroll for a significant number of employees, to acting as a liaison for benefits-related queries and compliance issues.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain comprehensive and updated employee files

• Assist with onboarding procedures for new hires

• Handle payroll responsibilities for a substantial workforce

• Verify and reconcile payroll with the third-party payroll company

• Address any benefits-related queries as the primary point of contact

• Ensure all changes related to employees are duly documented

• Update the employee handbook as and when necessary

• Process terminations and manage related paperwork

• Handle garnishments and unemployment claims effectively

• Support managers in their HR-related responsibilities

This role will require a strong skill set in Benefit Functions, Communication, Compliance, Employee Relations, Hiring Processes, Paychex, Approved Timesheets, Onboarding, Benefits Administration, EOB - Explanation of Benefits, Garnishments, Payroll - Garnishments, and Account Reconciliation.

Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role.

• Proficiency in Benefit Functions, including understanding and managing employee benefits.

• Excellent Communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Knowledge of Compliance regulations and standards in HR and payroll.

• Experience with Employee Relations and conflict resolution.

• Familiarity with Hiring Processes, including recruitment and selection.

• Proficiency in using Paychex software for payroll and HR tasks.

• Experience with Approved Timesheets, including tracking and managing employee hours.

• Strong skills in Onboarding new employees effectively.

• Demonstrated expertise in Benefits Administration, including enrollment and management.

• Understanding of EOB - Explanation of Benefits, and ability to explain these to employees.

• Experience with Garnishments and Payroll - Garnishments, including handling wage garnishments in payroll.

• Ability to perform Account Reconciliation, including balancing payroll accounts.
