Job Summary:

In this role, you will participate in the design, development, and evaluation of electrical components and processes. You will collaborate and support other engineering disciplines for electrical engineering matters. Your professional work knowledge and abilities through the application of standard electrical engineering techniques and criteria will enable you to make impactful contributions to the team. #LI-SNH

"This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and may require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership.”

Major Responsibilities:

Level 1

  • Participates in the design, development, modification and evaluation of components and processes used in the generation, manipulation, transmission. and storage of electricity.

  • Compiles, adjusts, and correlates data that will develop professional work knowledge and abilities through the application of standard electrical engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria utilizing relevant Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), design standards and guides, and Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs).

  • Provides input to and/or maintains technical logs and records.

  • Coordinates work and collaborates with other engineering disciplines.

  • Provides direct support to other engineering disciplines for electrical related matters.

  • Coordinates development and presentation of material when requested.

  • Prepares or assists in preparation of conceptual studies, designs, reports, or proposals.

Level 2

  • Evaluates, selects, and applies standard electrical engineering methods, techniques, procedures, and criteria, using independent judgment in making adaptations and modifications.

  • Participates in the design, development, modification, and evaluation of components and processes used in the generation, manipulation, transmission, and storage of electricity utilizing relevant Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), design standards and guides, and Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs).

  • Provides technical assistance to other electrical personnel and will interact with project functions, the customer, and regulatory agency personnel in the resolution of complex regulatory issues and industry codes and standards.

  • Provides assistance to project and construction management in identifying and complying with project electrical requirements and in addressing issues as they arise during project execution.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Level 1

  • Requires a University Hire with bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) in Electrical Engineering and 1-2 years of relevant experience.

Level 2

  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) in Electrical Engineering and 2-5 years of relevant experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must be a US Citizen.

  • Excellent oral and written communication, planning, and organizational skills.

  • Experience in working with procedures, regulatory guides, codes (NFPA 70), and standards.

  • Experience with Microsoft 365 suite of programs.

  • Experience originating or checking several types of electrical engineering discipline deliverables (single line diagrams, panel schedules, schematics, terminations schedules, raceway layout, power distribution, lighting, lightning protection, cathodic protection, grounding, communications, CCTV, public address, network architecture, etc.).

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of Bechtel Corporate guides and standards.

  • Previous Bechtel and/or DOD or DOE experience.

  • Possesses or is working toward US Professional Engineering License or Engineer-in-Training Certificate (or ability to obtain with 12 months).
