Job Summary:

Coordinate the work for the Civil/Structural Designer’s with Engineers and EGS to best prioritize and utilize the Design team most efficiently. This will be a working Lead position and the candidate will be expected to not only manage the work flow but also review and check drawings for quality assurance and originate deliverables on critical tasks. Communicates complex technical issues and recommends solutions to EGS. #LI-SB1

Major Responsibilities:

  • Plans, develops, coordinates and reviews design work.

  • Ensures assigned Civil/Structural Designer scope is performed in a manner which is compliant with procedures, high quality, applicable codes and regulations applied, timely, cost-effective and to a professional standard by those under their supervision.

  • Provide coaching and direction to less experienced designers to enhance their skills and help them support the design effort.

  • Monitors and checks work for compliance with approved design standards to provide quality design, reliable/safe plant operation and construction economy.

  • Prepares design and drafting procedures to standardize design effort.

  • Maintains up-to-date skills in Bechtel Standard Computer Applications (BSAPs) relevant to design work and ensures that maximum use is made thereof.

  • Supports the creation of a work environment that fosters openness, trust, communication, teamwork, empowerment, innovation and satisfaction.

  • Prepares or oversees the preparation of civil/structural design estimates and work plan in accordance with project scope, schedule and budget, and manages implementation and performance accordingly.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience.

  • Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical and background check which includes verification of employment and education.

  • Must be US Citizen

  • Recognized as advanced contributor with specialized skill set.

  • Seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of area of specialization, resolves a wide range of complex issues in creative and effective ways.
