Network Engineer

(Contract for Client)

SIGMADESIGN has collaborated with an Aerospace/Telecommunication company seeking an experienced Network Engineer to join their facility in Kirkland, WA. This company is committed to bringing fast and affordable broadband to underserved populations across the world.  This is an In-office contract with a duration of 6 months.

  • Salary: $110,000 – $130,000 annually

    Primary Function:

    The Network Engineer is responsible for supporting the clients’ test team with networking solutions for test hardware racks and integrating with existing network infrastructure.

    Essential Job Functions - Responsibilities:

  • Full time network engineer, dedicated to integrating the test networks to the greater manufacturing network. Must be able to interface with a larger networking team.

  • As an employee, you will be working in lab environment, testing infrastructure to ensure connectivity with AWS, keeping networks up and running.

  • Recent experience with virtual routing and forwarding (VRF), border gateway protocol (BGP), virtual LAN is mandatory.

  • Excellent IP networking fundamentals and extensive experience in the application of IP protocols as well as network analysis fundamentals and robust troubleshooting skills.

  • Troubleshooting traffic engineering and large scale network design and maintenance.

    Education and Experience: (Knowledge, skills, & abilities)

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent with 4+ years experience.

  • CompTIA (Network+, Security+) Cloud+, Linux+, or A+ certification required.

  • AWS familiarity and how to troubleshoot AWS network issues required.

  • Recent experience with virtual routing and forwarding (VRF), border gateway protocol (BGP), virtual LAN is mandatory.

  • Cisco and Juniper certifications preferred.

  • In-depth knowledge of and experience with major internet routing protocols & major router platforms; specifically with Juniper MX, EX, and T-series platforms including all compatible processors and line cards for these platforms.

  • Demonstrate commitment and adherence to SIGMADESIGN Core Values.

  • Pass a post-offer background verification.

    Work Environment:

    Standard lab/production environment. Appropriate safety garments (PPE) must be worn. Occasionally may be required to work in environmental conditions that emulate typical user environments in order to facilitate design testing and validation. Occasionally may be required to travel as required to other facilities, clients or suppliers. Must be able to stand and work as long as 12 hours in different positions. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
