Position Summary Kenworth is seeking an energetic, independent engineer with an interest in creating, defining, and verifying advanced technology-based vehicle controls. The R&D Teamis responsible for managing a comprehensive portfolio of prototype and production vehicles, as well as concept development/demonstration. The team develops rapid vehicle controls and component integration.The ideal candidate has excellent communications skills, experience in stakeholder alignment, and a passion for rapidly prototyping the latest technologies into commercial vehicles. Job Functions / Responsibilities Identify, develop, and incorporate advanced vehicle technologies (Battery Electric Vehicle, Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle, Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems, Connectivity, etc.) into PACCAR products Elicit requirements from customers, sales teams, government regulations, and industry standards to capture customer and business needs Develop functional controls for advanced vehicle systems and software features including test requirements Define interactions between vehicle systems Support prototype builds and projects at the R&D center Develop datalogging solutions for advanced vehicles Leverage PACCAR alternative powertrain projects lessons learned to develop the next generation of products. Work closely with a lean team of Mechanical, Electrical and Software Engineers Create work plans for upcoming programs by establishing scope, identifying deliverables, and estimating resources Qualifications & Skills B.S. in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field required; EIT certification andM.S. in Engineering or related field preferred 5-7 years of relevantexperience is required;Heavy/medium-duty truck or passenger car experience is highly desired Demonstrate a working knowledge of Vector CANalyzer, ATI calibration tools, and data collection tools. Experience with Vector datalogger solutions Experience with secure vehicle mounted internet gateways and back-office data analysis Experience with and able to analyze vehicle performance in MATLAB/Simulink Experience developing software on the New Eagle Raptor family of controllers Experience with Speedgoat HiL simulation Knowledge of ISO26262 and ASPICE is preferred Knowledge of J1939 communication and heavy-duty truck communication Experience with test harness and test bench design and construction Proficient in technical writing and reviewing engineering specifications and requirements Understands the design, development, and validation of automotive technologies Experience with agile software development prefer
