Grupporeco Production Supervisor in Kinston, North Carolina
Summary:
Directly supervises production hourly employees in manufacturing activities of an assigned production area in such a manner that approved quality products are manufactured and/or delivered on schedule and within specifications and cost requirements.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Efficiently managing a team consisting of entry-level, semi-skilled, and skilled personnel.
Directs work group or department to assure on-time production and/or delivery
Selects and trains employees to produce at standard-and-above efficiency.
Training/cross-training employees on products/machinery and company policies.
Responsible for teaching safe work practices, good housekeeping procedures and seeing that they are adhered to.
Ensures safety of employees by proactively identifying safety concerns and resolving open incidents in a timely manner.
Responsible for maintaining quality standards.
Responsible for maintaining high employee morale and positive relationships.
Responsible for controlling absenteeism, scrap and waste.
Frequent contact with office staff giving and/or receiving information.
Interacting with senior management and owners and contributing to overall company success and growth.
Developing and successfully completing corrective action plans when goals are not met.
Actively participate in quality and process improvement activities and projects.
Performs duties in compliance with all federal, state and local laws and regulations and company policies and procedures.
Performs other assignments as requested or as business needs require.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Associates degree or equivalent combination of college-level education and experience.
Proficient at using Microsoft Office tools Excel, Word, and Outlook.
At least three years experience in a supervisory role in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Read and comprehend instructions and understand manufacturing documents.
Ability to prioritize workload and take ownership of decisions.
Physical Requirements:
Physical Ability to work in a manufacturing setting; to walk, stand, and sit for prolonged periods of time.
Physical Ability to frequently stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, reach, twist, grasp, and make repetitive hand movements.
Working Environment:
This position is located in a normal manufacturing setting with appropriate lighting for most of the day but will be required to work partially in the shop floor where noise may be meddling at times. The shop floor is equipped with large and noisy machines. The lighting is adequate in the plant. Individuals are required to wear safety glasses and closed toe shoes and other protective personal equipment (PPE) as required.
