The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) performs directpatient care under the direct supervision of a RN or LPN/LVN or other licensedmedical professional. The CNA/NA performs a variety of individualized patient careactivities and related non-professional services necessary in caring for thepersonal needs and comforts of patients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintains patient confidentiality of all clients

• Performs duties within scope of practice, as assigned, in anaccurate and timely manner

• Adheres to facility/client policy, procedures and protocolsat all times

• Assists doctors, nurses, and other healthcare providers withtreatments, procedures, and tests being performed in a variety of patient caresettings

• Safeguards the client/patient by observing appropriateinfection control procedures including but not limited to universal precautions

• Notifies the supervising nurse of any abnormal findings orconditions

• Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability in meeting theneeds of all facilities

• Other duties as assigned

  Minimum Requirements:

• Prefer one year experience as a certified nursing assistantwithin the last three years

• Graduate from certified nursing assistant program withsubsequent documentation as a certified nursing assistant per staterequirements with proof of verification as being an active certification and ingood-standing

• Knowledge of medical terminology and knowledge of clericalfunctions

• Complies with all relevant professional standards ofpractice

• Participation and completion of Amergis’ Competency programwhen applicable

• Current CPR if applicable

• TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable

• Current Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)

• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements

• Successful completion of new hire training as applicable tojob site

• Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements

• Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to andfrom appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors,co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in theEnglish language is required

• Computer proficiency required

• Must be at least 18 years of age

Requirements:

• Must be licensed for minimum 1 year

• Must have some psychiatric experience

• Must be able to attend orientation first 2 weeks M-F 8A-5P (no call outs or late arrival allowed)

• Must be able to follow red dot policy (stay up to 4 hours past shift - scheduled ahead of time)

• Must be comfortable working in a psych/IDD population which may include patients with behavioral issues

  Days 6a-6:30p rotating with 9a-9:30p

  Nights 6p-6:30a rotating with 9p-9:30a

  36/48 rotation every other weekend required

  All staff will be required to work Monday-Friday, on 1st shift for approximately 4 weeks for orientation and training.

  Staff will be assigned a specific unit/patients for the entire contract to build familiarity with patients (may be required to float as needed)

  Family orientated facility, great location, laid back position, most patients will be self functional
