Eastman is looking for an Electrical Engineer to make a difference in our plants, our company and the world around us! As an Electrical Engineer at Eastman, you’ll work closely with teams of other engineers and our partners in Manufacturing to design, improve, and troubleshoot electrical systems of all shapes and sizes, while supporting a variety of equipment and manufacturing processes along the way. This role is challenging and rewarding, all at the same time. It will test you as an engineer, while also providing opportunities to expand your knowledge, experience, and skills. Electrical engineers are an important part in the success of Eastman and can also help shape our world for the better through involvement with many of Eastman’s innovative projects! How you’ll help us innovate to build a better world: • Specify hardware: program, troubleshoot and recommend repairs, upgrades and expansions of DCS and PLC systems in our plants • Specify, troubleshoot, upgrade, and improve instrumentation systems, including meters, sensors, transmitters, valve automation, analyzers, etc. • Work with high and low voltage systems specifying, troubleshooting and installing equipment • Work with experts to provide short-circuit current and arc-flash calculations to help make our equipment and plants safer • Provide engineering and technical support to instrumentation & electrical technicians on proper repair methods and techniques. Support field maintenance to resolve I&E field problems • Participate in OPHR, Hazard Reviews & ORI’s as needed • Investigate equipment failures, determine root cause of failures and recommend appropriate solutions • Assist in the development and ongoing improvement of the plant mechanical integrity program • Design and specify alterations and revisions to improve equipment requirement &/or system reliability and capacity • Assist in the development, implementation and periodic review of preventative and predictive maintenance programs • Keep current with and evaluate new methodologies, work practices, equipment, instrumentation, controls and technology for application and use within the plant • Participate in the planning and execution of minor and major shutdowns. Provide engineering and troubleshooting support as required during shutdowns • Scope, estimate and provide engineering for small capital projects in the range of $0.5M • Opportunities to mentor early career engineers, interns, and co-ops

Qualifications

We would love to hear from people with (Qualifications) • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Electrical or other engineering discipline) from an ABET accredited school. • 2+ years of hands-on experience in chemical or industrial manufacturing environments, with a strong background in various electrical engineering disciplines, including instrumentation, power, controls or General Electrical Engineering • Self-starter and self-motivator with emphasis on personal accountability • Ability to effectively lead &/or influence others • High level of ownership with desire to positively impact plant performance and the world around us • Excellent written, listening and verbal communication skills • Ability to work as a team player in a team environment • Willingness to travel (up to 15% of time) is preferred What will set you apart (Desired Competencies) • Plant Engineering experience providing design, troubleshooting, and/or installation support • Experience with instrumentation, interlock systems, motors, generators, control systems, grounding, and/or utilities systems • Experience with general electrical design, and industry practices, for industrial and/or commercial facilities • Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code
