Position Purpose:

Support efficient operations of the nursing unit. Utilize skills in reception, transcription, maintaining medical records and clerical duties. Other duties as assigned.
Rhythm Strip Interpretation:
The Monitor Tech (MT) will maintain a baseline level of ECG monitoring for all ordered patients, detect and alert nursing staff to significant dysrhythmias, and perform continuous monitoring and intermittent recording on patients in crisis.

- Record, interpret, post and report rhythms on all monitored patients at the scheduled times and as

- Give report to oncoming MT, reflecting the last 12 hours of patient
- Run rhythm strips, identify rhythm, and deliver to appropriate ICU/PCU Clinical Lead assigned to the

- The MT will maintain a flow sheet documenting each patients rhythm and ectopy over the course of the Documentation to be every eight hours.
- All continuing artifacts should be investigated by the MT and adjustments made as
- The MT will perform routine and troubleshooting activities related to equipment maintenance, equipment checks, and report any malfunctions to the ICU/PCU designated Charge Nurse.
