Sustainability Specialist (IKEA Purchasing Services (US) Inc. / King of Prussia, PA) -- Perform sustainability compliance audits (Environmental Management, Water and Wastewater Treatment, Air and Noise Emissions, Waste and Hazardous Waste management, Circular Economy, Energy Efficiency, Occupational Health and Safety Conditions, Fire Safety & Prevention, Employment Standards and Social Responsibility) in accordance with company standards including verification of traceability for critical materials and animal welfare; support business units and suppliers of Purchasing & Logistics Area in sustainability implementation process; perform sustainability verification audits across company in alignment with company framework; gather and analyze information and facts to draw conclusions about compliance/non-compliance, using auditing methods including in-depth interviews with individual and/or group interviews with different parties at supplier; perform root cause analysis of non-compliance and create understanding for supplier in order to achieve compliance; issue final approval and ensure that all relevant systems are updated; train and support suppliers, business unit teams and new Sustainability Compliance Auditors; secure timely and accurate audit information in the supplier review database; contribute to short and long-term sustainability compliance action plan and prepare and implement relevant activities; be part of Sustainability Local or Global Projects, act as ambassador of company values and role model for fact-based business leadership. Requires Bachelor's in Environmental Engineering or Natural Sciences and five years of experience in job offered or as Sustainability Compliance Auditor. Background in education, training or experience must include experience in Environmental Management System ISO 14001; Social Responsibility supported by Standards ISO16.001, ISO26.001, SA8.000; Fire Safety and Prevention Systems; Occupational Health and Safety Conditions; Employment Standards; Root Cause Analyzes Tools and Basis Project Manager knowledge; Energy Efficiency; Environmental Audits; and Waste Management and Environmental Impacts. Approximately 25% to 50% travel required, including international.
