Lockheed Martin Software Engineering Associate Manager in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania

This Spacecraft/Payload Flight Software Development Associate Manager position will be responsible for functional leadership of 5-8 engineers across two Agile Development teams and will have cost, execution, and schedule oversight. The group is actively developing a specialized Space payload using cutting-edge hardware and software technologies. You'll be engaged on the functional aspects of leading the organization while also remaining highly engaged in the technical solutions the team is developing plus supporting integration with the Spacecraft Bus to allow for a 2026 launch to Low Earth Orbit.

Your responsibilities for this role will include building the teams, managing day-to-day operations, maintaining / expanding lab infrastructure and site infrastructure to support the developers that you'll be responsible for identifying and hiring. You are responsible for providing technical coaching and mentoring, work assignments, employee career development, continuous ongoing feedback, and being their employees advocate in opportunity discussions. You will be responsible for coordinating employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessments, salary planning, recognition/disciplinary actions, staffing, and engineering competency development.

Basic Qualifications:

- Minimum 5 years of experience in full lifecycle of Software Engineering for software intensive projects

- Minimum 2 years direct tangible experience and understanding managing software and systems engineering efforts using Agile methods, processes, and practices

- Ability to Coach and Mentor software developers and other team members

Desired Skills:

- Experience leading teams of 5-10 employees

- Experience with C, C++, or Python

- Familiarity with Position, Navigation & Timing (PNT) technologies

- Familiarity with Radio Frequency (RF) communications, Software Defined Radio (SDR), Signal Processing

- Experiencing with costing for proposals, BOEs and ROMs

- Experience Interviewing, Hiring and Building Teams

- Recent Experience as Product Owner, Scrum Master, and/or Release Train Engineer

- Familiarity with common Agile and DevSecOps Engineering Tools, such as GitLab and Jira

- Bachelor's degree or above in an engineering/technical discipline from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education

- Ability and desire to professionally represent Lockheed Martin to a variety of internal and external stakeholders

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
