A Brief Overview Respiratory Therapist is responsible for providing respiratory care and services to home care patients in accordance with the CHOP, CHHC standards of practice, policy and procedure and within all regulatory and accrediting agency guidelines.

What you will do Practice: Provides competent care for patients and families based on experience. Respiratory practice and documentation is in accordance with CHOP, CHHC standards of care, policy & procedure as well as all regulatory and accrediting agency guidelines. Participates in on -call rotation to meet patient care needs Professionalism/Leadership : Demonstrates competence in professional practice. Research: Demonstrates an awareness of research and its value to clinical practice. Participates in efforts to apply research findings to practice. Learning Orientation: Participates in the development of professional and educational activities. Examines successes and failures to improve performance. Maintains a blame free environment. Able to identify own learning needs. Seeks out opportunity to meet needs and attends all required programs. Resource Management: Fully understand appropriate utilization of financial resources. Participates in promoting quality, efficient, and cost effective care. Performs other duties as assigned by Home Care Management Education Qualifications Technical Diploma Respiratory Therapy Program Required Associate's Degree Required Bachelor's Degree Preferred Experience Qualifications Pediatric, acute, subacute or home care experience Preferred Skills and Abilities Strong interpersonal and customer service skills. Strong verbal and communication skills. Strong clinical judgment skills. Ability to work independently. Ability to work as a team player in a fast paced environment. Data entry skills. Ability to operate a company vehicle and/or be insured on a CHOP policy. Licenses and Certifications Driver's License - Department of Motor Vehicles - upon hire - Required and Respiratory Therapist (Pennsylvania) - Pennsylvania State Licensing Board - upon hire - Required and Respiratory Therapist License (New Jersey) - New Jersey State Licensing Board - within 9 months - Required and Respiratory Therapist License (Delaware) - Delaware State Licensing Board - within 9 months - Required and Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) - National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) - upon hire - Required and Basic Life Support (BLS) - issued through on organization that requires a hands-on instructor lead psychomotor skills verification (ex. American Heart Association or Red Cross). - within 3 months - Required Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) - upon hire - Preferred
