ABOUT CSL

CSL is a leading global biotechnology company with a constantly evolving portfolio of lifesaving products, built from the company’s passion to always put patients and people first.

Headquartered in Melbourne and listed on the Australian Stock Exchange, CSL provides life-saving medicines in more than 60 countries and has over 32,000 employees worldwide. The majority of CSL’s corporate activities take place in the US, in King of Prussia (Pennsylvania). Innovation and growth is a priority for CSL, and its exceptional track record of year-on-year growth and shareholder return coupled with sustained patient impact have garnered CSL a strong reputation across its broad and diverse stakeholder base.

Following the redesign of CSL’s Corporate and External Affairs function in 2024, The Global Head, Internal Engagement will architect and lead a new organisation focused on deepening worldwide employee engagement, enhancing strategic alignment and momentum, and strengthening company culture. A key priority for this team will be supporting the activation of senior leaders as conduits and stewards of the company strategy and values.

OUR CORE CSL BUSINESSES

Together the two elevated Seqirus to the second largest influenza company in the world. Seqirus today is a global vaccines leader with one of the broadest influenza vaccine portfolios, and a growing suite of vaccine technologies for COVID-19 and other respiratory pathogens.

CSL Vifor is a strong and rapidly growing presence in nephrology and is committed to launching the next generation of therapies to address the full spectrum of kidney disease, with a focus on dialysis and rare disease. This is supported by their founding heritage and expertise in iron deficiency therapy, helping to support a broad range of patients in need.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Driving employee engagement . Internal surveys consistently show a high level of employee engagement, trust and belief in the company and a deep pride in CSL’s mission. As the pace of business continues to accelerate and geo-expansion and portfolio diversification continue, protecting and growing this level of engagement is a key priority for the Global Leadership Team (CSL’s ExCo). The new leader will bring insight into how to foster and drive sustained engagement across a multi-generational, multinational employee base, many of whom operate in non-wired or field-based environments remote from CSL’s flagship operating sites.

  • Enhancing strategic alignment and momentum . CSL has an ambitious 2030 Strategy and annual Fiscal Year Priorities behind which all organizational efforts must be focused. Driving internal understanding of the company’s vision, growth priorities, operating segments and markets is key to ensure teams across the business are setting objectives and goals aligned to delivery of these priorities, able to see the ‘red thread’ between their roles and the enterprise company agenda. The Head, IE and team will work closely with the CEO, Chief Strategy Officer and GLG to bring to life these priorities and longterm strategy, translating and bringing meaning for teams in all divisions and geographies.

  • Senior Leader Activation . CSL’s senior leader population (200) is a priority group for the GLG and the IE head and team will be accountable for enhancing the confidence and skill of this community as leaders and conduits of company strategy and purpose, including supporting CSL community-building, shaping and delivering a leader communications programme and providing tools and support to maximise leader effectiveness, including when representing the company externally.

  • Executive Communications . The IE team will be accountable for shaping and coordinating CEO and GLG (Global Leadership Group) communications and impact, ensuring CSL’s executive leadership convey an aligned and inspirational vision for the growth of the company that builds trust with employees worldwide. The Global Head of IE will develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy for the CEO, aligned with the company’s goals and values.

  • Agile, Shared-Service delivery. For the first time, Communications will be evolving to provide an agile shared-service delivery to CSL’s enabling functions, creating a small team with multi-disciplinary communications expertise to support these functions flexibly in line with demand. An experienced Agile / shared-service leader, the Head of IE will design and activate this team and develop the individuals within it to work in an Agile, customer-centric, matrixed way.

  • Global site communications support . As CSL’s global footprint continues to expand and diversify, connectivity between flagship hub sites and the center is key. The Head, IE will design and lead a transition to a centralized ‘hub and spoke’ support model to enable all sites worldwide to benefit from consistent communications support, whilst investing dedicated resource in key strategic sites.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred
