Red River Network Engineer in King George, Virginia
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Network Engineer to join our team to design, maintain, and troubleshoot computer networks for large-scale government programs. As a Network Engineer you will collaborate and work closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure network resources are available and optimized to meet mission requirements. This position requires 25% on-site time in King George VA and travel in the Maryland, Virginia, and DC area.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field or applicable work experience
Secret security clearance
Six years of experience as a Network Engineer, preferably in the government sector
Professional experience and high-level understanding of working with various operating systems and their implications
Proven hands-on network engineering experience
Deep understanding of networking protocols
Solid understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model
Desired Certifications:
CCNA Certification
CCNP Enterprise Certification
Cisco CCT Data Center
VMware Certified Technical Associate
Responsibilities:
Plan, design, and evaluate new and existing computer network systems and services, including local area networks, wide area networks, intranets, and the Internet, providing analytical, technical, and administrative support
Plan, oversee, develop, and implement network policies and procedures and ensure network integrity as maintenance and modification projects to existing applications are undertaken
Troubleshoot network issues and install and upgrade network equipment and software
Create and maintain documentation relating to network configuration, network mapping, processes, and service records
Establish and document network technical support processes and procedures
Monitor and test network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports
Act as technical liaison between clients, customers, and vendors to resolve issues
As a Network Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity, optimization, and availability of networks for mission needs. Your networking expertise will significantly contribute to the success of large-scale Department of Defense programs . You will work in a collaborative and dynamic environment, interacting with various stakeholders.
