Education:

High School Diploma or GED

Months/Years of Experience:

Nine (9) years experience performing non-routine assignments of substantial variety and complexity, using operational precedents which are not fully applicable.

Required Qualifications:

U.S. Citizen. Security Clearance Required, Previous Ordnance and Explosives Handling experience.

Desired Qualifications:

Navy and/or Marine Corps experience is highly preferred. Desire to work in a dynamic environment including outside in temperature extremes. Self-motivated. Mission oriented.

Skills Needed:

  • Demonstrated ability to work together with other technicians and engineers to help develop SOPs for fragmentation recovery operations;

  • Demonstrated ability to comply with all safety requirements while performing all facets of work and following applicable standard operating procedures and safety procedures as related to ordnance and explosives handling;

  • Strong communication skills;

  • Ability to obtain NSWCDD ordnance handling qualifications and pass all related tests, oral board, physical;

  • Ability to attain additional certifications including: HAZWOPER Certification,

Duties:

Perform Fragmentation recovery functions to include: material item reclamation; preparing materials for testing; categorizing materials; preparing for testing of canisters and associated test fixtures; pulling/pressing material components; linking and delinking operations; coordination of material to NSWCDD storage and/or test sites; Documenting related activities.

Comments:

Compliance with health mandates as dictated by the contract may be required as a condition of employment.
