Job Description

We are seeking fully proficient CNC Machinists to join our team, working either the first shift from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM or the second shift from 3:30 PM to 2:00 AM with a flexible schedule and shift differential. In this role, you will machine quality parts from prints and work orders in a job shop environment, handling large machined parts including weldments. You will be operating various CNC equipment, including large vertical and horizontal mills, and must be self-sufficient in performing your own set-ups and programming at the machine when needed.

Responsibilities

  • Operate various CNC equipment, including large vertical and horizontal mills.

  • Perform own set-ups and programming at the machine as needed.

  • Machine quality parts from prints and work orders accurately and timely.

  • Edit CNC programs as required.

  • Set up tools and set lengths offset.

  • Complete spot checks to ensure quality.

  • Read and interpret all custom blueprints.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to CNC machining.

  • Ensure all measurements and tolerances remain within expectations.

  • Eliminate downtime in machining operations.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in CNC program editing.

  • Ability to perform set-ups at the machine.

  • Capability to work independently without supervision.

  • Proficiency in operating large vertical and horizontal mills.

  • Knowledge of feeds, speeds, and tooling.

  • Strong understanding of shop math and machining-related duties.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of experience as a CNC Machinist.

  • Ability to study product and consumer requirements along with engineering, estimating, and manufacturing.

  • Experience collecting material samples for physical tests and analysis.

  • Ability to set standards for in-process, finished product, and rework.

Work Environment

This role involves working in a job shop environment with large machined parts, including weldments. The work includes operating CNC equipment, performing set-ups, and programming at the machine. You will be working either on the first shift from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM or the second shift from 3:30 PM to 2:00 AM with a flexible schedule. Dress code and specific facility conditions will be discussed during the interview process.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kent, Ohio.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $72800.00/hr.
