POSITION SUMMARY

The Behavioral Health Clinic offers a supportive, learning environment to obtain post graduate hours toward licensure. The therapist will be provided best practice training and supervision. Therapists maintain their own schedule and meet with consumers  in person or via telehealth. The therapist is responsible to provide diagnosis, treatment planning, therapeutic intervention, and discharge of their consumers. Therapeutic interventions are offered in individual and group modalities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1.         Participate in intake and assessment of consumers into services

  2.         Evaluate consumers’ mental health needs and develop individualized treatment plan

  3.         Refer consumers to other providers, specialists, or practitioners when necessary

  4.       Counsel consumers individually or in group sessions to assist in overcoming dependencies, adjustment to life issues, or making necessary changes in their lives to increase their quality of life

  5.       Continue to adjust treatment modality as necessary to meet the most current need of the consumer, within scope of practice

  6.       Constantly monitor and assess for emergent needs or imminent threats to self or others and follow clinic protocol for emergency assessment and referral for higher level of care, if needed

  7.       Always maintain confidentiality of consumer information and records as per HIPAA guidelines with understanding of and compliance with limits of confidentiality

  8.       Counsel family members to assist them in understanding, dealing with, and/or supporting consumer if indicated

  9.       Provide comprehensive discharge plans for consumer when therapy has completed

  10.     Complete in a timely manner all necessary documentation of:

               a.    Initial assessment and eligibility paperwork

               b.    Treatment plan and updates as necessary

               c.     Progress notes in EMR

               d.    Any Federal or State mandated forms or data collection

               e.    Discharge summaries

               f.     Any other paperwork that may be necessary to continue care

               g.    Clinical supervision notes

               h.    All requirements of Wisconsin DHS Chapter 35

PROFESSIONALISM

  1.       Conduct oneself in a professional manner

                a.       Maintain the confidentiality and other rights of participants, families and staff and follow HIPPA guidelines  for all verbal and written communication

                b.       Problem-solve difficult situations in a timely manner

                c.        Manage difficult or emotional consumer situations by responding promptly to needs, requests for  assistance and services

                d.       Give, receive and act upon feedback from supervisors and co-workers in an appropriate manner

                e.       Maintain professional boundaries with consumers and co-workers at all times

                f.        Understand cultural diversity and have respect for others’ values and culture

                g.       Attend training as requested by supervisors

                h.       Other tasks as assigned by supervisors

QUALIFICATIONS:  A Master's degree from an accredited college or university and certified in Wisconsin as an  Advance Practice Social Worker or Licensed Professional Counselor-In Training.

  1.       APSW OR LPC-IT by the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services

  2.       Experience working with adults and children and families a plus

  3.       Ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbally, in the English language

  4.       Must have reliable transportation and valid driver’s license with good driving record

  5.       Must carry own Malpractice insurance and auto insurance with at least 100,000/300,000/100,000

  6.       Ability to maintain records and document case notes daily

  7.       Ability to give and accept feedback as a part of a team

  8.       Ability to traverse within the workspace and community frequently

  9.       Be willing to learn and work with the treatment philosophies

  10.     Bilingual in Spanish a plus
