Northrop Grumman, Space Systems, is seeking an Energetic Manufacturing Engineering Manager II position to join our team. This position will be overseeing the Energetics Mechanical Process Engineering team within Propulsion Systems Division at our Kennedy Space Center, Florida facilities.
Role description & Responsibilities:
This position will be directly responsible for the Energetics Mechanical Assembly Manufacturing Processes Engineering organization that supports SLS Booster operations at KSC.
This includes the following:
Oversee the day-to-day Process Engineering activities to ensure effective pre-production readiness, real-time floor support, and effective, compliant, streamlined processes.
Oversee Engineers in working with Operations, Design Engineering, S&MA, other internal and external organizations to ensure process readiness, on-schedule production operations, zero-defect hardware, and real-time issue resolution.
Direct development and implementation of continuous improvement objectives within the area to improve safety, improve product quality, decrease product cycle time, reduce costs and strategically prepare for the future.
Ensure leadership and key subject matter expert succession plans are in place and be proactive by coaching and mentoring key talent to be able to assume increased responsibilities.
Ensure strong and open relationships with senior leadership, employees, support organizations, and customers at KSC and across the Business Unit.
Ensure all Engineering activities are performed in compliance with Propulsion Systems Process Engineering disciplines.
Foster a strong workplace culture of safety, technical excellence, professional development, personal accountability, and enjoyment.

Successful candidate must be able to work flexible and changing shift schedules; day or night shifts, including weekends if necessary. This position will occasionally oversee 2- or 3-shift operations, up to 7 days a week.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in science, engineering, or technical discipline with 8 years of experience in an aerospace manufacturing/engineering environment; or Master’s degree with a minimum of 6 years’ experience in an aerospace manufacturing/engineering environment.
7 years minimum demonstrated experience leading and building engineering teams
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with all levels of Operations, Program Management, Design Engineering, S&MA, functional organizations, and all other business personnel.
Experience with resource planning/allocation and managing to a budget
Outstanding communication skills and use of M365 suite, and proficient in business systems used in Process Engineering (ESI, Costpoint, TcUA, SmartSolve, Primavera, or equivalents)
Experience with employee work allocation, improvement plans, manufacturing and processes, engineering change process, technical and operational problem resolution, etc.
Preferred Qualifications:
7+ years of demonstrated successful employee leadership experience – including experience managing organizations of 10 or more individuals
Experience working NASA programs
Experience working at a satellite office location
Hands-on experience developing and managing within schedules and budgets with fluency in earned value management. Prior experience working fixed-price contracts.
Experience with MRP demand-driven operations management systems (Costpoint, SAP, etc.)
LEAN manufacturing and process improvement experience
Experience in implementing affordability initiatives that improve product quality, drive down overall cost, and/or improve schedule
Experience in supporting Root Cause & Corrective Action analysis using multiple methods such as fault trees, Kepner Trego analysis, 5 Why’s, etc.

Salary Range: $135,100 - $202,700
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
