Job Description Job Description Pay rates between $21.60 - $29.65(DOE)with Attendance Premium of $0.25 and Shift Premiums of $0.50 and $1.00 for hours worked during swing and night shifts. This role is responsible for the daily operations of an industrial Wastewater Pre-treatment plant to include all ancillary equipment, and chemical treatment systems. Duties and Responsibilities: Operate and maintain wastewater treatment system to regulate flow and processing of water in accordance with the facilities ADEM Industrial Wastewater discharge permit. Analyze data and samples to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Diagnoses and repair various pumps, drive units, reducers, pneumatic valves, solenoid valves associated with plant equipment. Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals to perform required maintenance and service; plan and lay out repair work using diagrams, drawings, blueprints, maintenance manuals, and schematic diagrams. Must have anunderstanding of total suspended solids (TSS), turbidity, pH, sedimentation, general chemistry reactions and coagulation in order to determine and perform operational adjustments as required. Calibrates pH probes and documents results in required logbook. Assists in calibration of any wastewater plant system mechanical, electrical, and electronic equipment associated with the plant operations. Clearly communicates any malfunctions or operational problems with Wastewater Supervisor and/or Maintenance Manager. Maintains accurate and complete records and logs of all plant operations. Completes daily shift log entries pertaining to daily activities. Daily tracking of chemical inventories, spare parts inventory, and waste disposal activities. Understanding and commitment to safety. Perform maintenance and preventive maintenance activities as assigned. Perform daily shift housekeeping duties, and complete and maintain work records in a timely manner. Performs other duties as assigned Qualifications Qualifications HS Diploma or GED 2 years' experience operation and maintenance of wastewater treatment equipment. Wastewater and /or Water Operator Certification preferred. Must be able to work overnight Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and overtime, as needed.
