Job Description:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field of study or equivalent years of related work experience required

Work Experiences:

  • 2+ years of in space planning, space optimization, visual merchandise presentation or similar experience required

  • Utilization experience in visual merchandising, space planning and financial planning required

  • Retail experience preferred

  • Ability to establish rapport, a strong sense of partnership and maintain harmonious working relationships across all levels within the organization

  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to remain organized, pay strict attention to detail, and meet critical deadlines within a high volume, fast-paced environment

  • Analytical mind set with strong problem solving abilities. Always thinking ahead and providing solutions to challenges set forth to meet consumer demand

  • Knowledge of JDA Intactix Space platform, Oracle, SAS, Excel and PowerPoint

Responsibilities:

  • Support the merchandising presentation team’s strategic efforts in new business growth.

  • Partner with the buying, planning, creative and operations teams on space analysis and floor plan prescriptives to drive sales, profit and inventory objectives.

  • Ensure consistent processes are in place and accurate planning and analysis data points are utilized during all phases of assortment planning for all divisions and projects.

  • Manage the assortment calendar for new growth businesses and specialty projects as needed.

  • Drive space/floor planning processes, to include planogram creation, floor planning, space optimization and merchandise presentation.

  • Leverage relative key planogram milestones by working proactively to course correct when required.

  • Develop/maintain documentation and training content for merchants and category space planners using system supported reports.

  • Create ad hoc reporting and analysis, as requested.

  • Develop a thorough understanding of Academy policies, procedures, and safety rules.

  • Duties may change; team member may be required to perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements & Attendance:

  • Acceptable level of hearing and vision to perform job duties

  • Adhere to company work hours, policies, procedures and rules governing professional staff behavior

  • Regular attendance required

  • Up to 5% travel, overnight stays as required

  • Ability to work flexible hours such as evening, weekends, and holidays as necessary
