Summary/Objective:
To assist students in gaining knowledge of the naturalization process. To assist the creation of citizenship curriculum, implementation, and management. Lead citizenship workshops, data tracking, and outreach of citizenship program. To assist students to reach levels of educational proficiency necessary to read, write, and comprehend the English language. Understand and coach students through the naturalization application process. To assist ESL Manager and NexStep Leadership in effectively meeting the program outcome measurements. Other assigned functions as deemed necessary by the ESL Manager. To fulfill mission statement.
Education/Experience:
Must possess a bachelor’s degree in Education with a strong background in English as a Second Language or Language Arts; TESOL certification and previous teaching experience with adult learners are preferred. Must pass a background check and maintain a valid Kansas driver’s license. Must feel comfortable with Microsoft Office and data tracking. Strong verbal and written communication skills are required. Must have experience and passion for working with individuals who are non-native English speakers. Must feel comfortable and confident with outreach events and mass communication.
