About the Opportunity:

The Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City is seeking to hire a mid-level Technology Automation Engineer to join our Access Elevation Services (AES) team. This role supports National IT Identify & Access Management (IAM) and is primarily responsible for delivering automation to streamline and transform privileged access elevation systems.

You will work within a hybrid Kanban methodology environment under the direction of the AES Service Owner with a primary focus to design, configure, and deploy automated solutions. This includes replacing/enhancing manual and inefficient processes, augmenting technology delivery, and strengthening privileged access management security practices. This position is fully dedicated to delivery of automation.

What You Will Do:

  • Work with the AES Service Owner to identify, prioritize, and plan delivery of automation solutions.

  • Engage with customers/service partners, subject matter experts and cross-functional teams to gather and define automation requirements.

  • Work with peer Automation Engineers to design and develop script automation to enhance the server life cycle, business process workflows, privileged access elevation capabilities, system integration solutions and enterprise technology delivery.

  • Design, program, model and test automated systems.

  • Develop automation improvements, strategies and framework.

  • Proficiently apply programming skills to deliver automation solutions for rapidly changing design needs.

  • Document processes, procedures and training materials for AES staff and stakeholders.

  • Attend weekly stand-up meetings and periodic team meetings.

  • Work to continually improve processes, drive cost reduction activities and build domain knowledge.

  • Provide technical mentorship to junior team members including code reviews.

Qualifications:

  • Typically requires at least 3 years of relevant experience

  • Associate degree in Information Technology or closely related field from a technical/vocational school, an accredited college or university, or equivalent combination of directly related education and/or experience.

  • Strong working knowledge of scripting languages such as Bash, JavaScript, Perl, PHP, PowerShell and Python.

  • A thorough understanding of information security privileged access principles; CISSP Certification preferred.

  • Experience delivering incremental changes using Kanban development methodology, preferred.

  • Solid understanding of operating system principles.

  • Strong technical writing and verbal communications skills and ability to adjust a wide array of audiences.

  • Self-initiative, details-oriented, and capable of bringing new ideas to the table.

  • Ability to adapt and succeed in a rapidly changing environment.

  • Pay Range:The starting pay range for this position is $70,000 to $126,200 for the job level(s) required for this position. Final offers are determined by factors including the candidate’s qualifications, internal alignment considerations, district assignment, and geographic location.  

  • Screening Requirements: This position has additional screening requirements due to the information accessed while performing the job. These additional screenings would be initiated at the time of offer acceptance and can take up to a couple of months to be completed. You can begin work before the screening is completed; however, continued employment is contingent on acceptable screening results. The areas screened may include education/employment verification, criminal history, credit history, and reference checks.
