Description We are offering a contract for a Staff Accountant position in the manufacturing industry, based in Kansas City, Missouri. This role will involve a variety of tasks including the processing of sales, managing intercompany transactions, and assisting with the management of government contracts.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately prepare, review and reconcile journal entries

• Manage prepaid and accrual accounts effectively

• Ensure accurate reconciliation of cash general ledger accounts with bank statements

• Collaborate with the controller to prepare month-end schedules and reconciliations

• Process sales, use, and franchise taxes and manage relationships with external vendors for support

• Handle intercompany transactions for multiple entities

• Identify and implement process improvements to streamline accounting processes

• Manage fixed asset additions, disposals, and depreciation

• Review check runs before submission for signature

• Participate in the enhancement of internal controls

• Interact with various areas of the company to understand the basis for transactions and explain variances

• Assist in managing government contracts and ensuring compliance

• Provide support across all aspects of the department in a backup capacity

• Support the recent transition to a new ERP system

• Understand manufacturing operations and their impact on financials. Requirements • Must possess strong skills in Bank Reconciliations, ensuring accurate tracking and management of company funds.

• Proficiency in maintaining and managing the General Ledger, including keeping records of all company transactions.

• Must have experience in preparing and posting Journal Entries to ensure accurate reflection of company financial activities.

• Should have experience in managing Month End Close procedures, including preparing financial reports and statements.
