KPMG is currently seeking a Senior Director, Strategy & Portfolio Management to join our Digital Nexus technology organization. This is a remote work opportunity.
Responsibilities:
Lead the overall strategy, delivery and management of the Journey Partner (Business Relationship Management) and Portfolio Management Functions; set tactical plan for the execution of the strategic objectives of the program(s); ensure development of actionable strategies in alignment with firm priorities; accountable for oversight of all incoming demand to the digital organization and ensuring that the organization has the necessary capacity to support the demand
Define portfolio management framework, measures and metrics to provide visibility to stakeholders (internal and external) of risks, issues and overall health of the program(s) and project portfolio, escalating risk to the stakeholders and Digital leadership to raise awareness and provide recommendations to resolve issues
Operate as a key advisor to clients and proactively initiate ideas to significantly improve client centricity; drive and manage progress of shared assignments/group objectives and large-scale programs, processes and/or projects
Provide leadership and direction to remove obstacles and help ensure team members have all the tools and guidance to successfully execute on key activities; ensure program(s) and project(s) are delivered according to business expectations; work with architects, delivery, and operations teams to understand internal changes for example, digital capabilities, upgrades to infrastructure, technology refreshes, internal projects, and more, that need to be prioritized and scheduled in the change plan
Use deep subject matter expertise to guide and counsel leaders on highly complex matters impacting the digital organization and the firm; act as a significant contributor to innovation that has impact and creates a high financial, client value, and efficiency impact within the department; incorporate global and other environmental factors into business analysis
Participate as a member of the leadership team to champion the mission and vision of the digital organization to foster a program delivery and business-focused culture and mindset; act as the senior executive escalation point to ensure business expectations, goals and objectives are met for all clients
Qualifications:
Minimum twelve years of recent experience in organizing, planning, and executing multiple large-scale projects and programs from definition through implementation with advanced program or project management skills
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; Master's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred; PMP certification is preferred
Experience managing multi-phase, multi-track and multi-year projects and programs
Comprehensive knowledge of full lifecycle project management, software development lifecycle, Agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe), package implementations, infrastructure deployment methodologies, IT transformation projects and industry best practices
Skilled in making decisions of very high complexity, often autonomously; capability to direct, motivate and empower others to work towards the organization's goals, ensuring efficient allocation of resources across multiple functions
Exceptional verbal/written communication, collaboration, negotiation and influencing skills to lead an environment driven by customer service and teamwork; able to ensure execution of strategic initiatives for the organization; ability to address emerging opportunities and how organization should be organized/staffed to realize them
