HARTWIG Robotic Systems Integrator in Kansas City, Missouri

The Job

ARobotic Systems Integratorcontributes to the success of Hartwig by working hand-in-hand with our Sales and Application teams to provide support and be a technical resource while identifying automation solutions to ensure a customer's success. The ideal candidate willperform basic to complex configurations and integrate electronic and mechanical hardware with software products to meet the functional criteria of customer specifications. Programming includes robotic programming (Fanuc preferred) and PLC / HMI program modification for automated systems.

The customers we serve are in a variety of industries and rely on the Hartwig team to provide the best manufacturing solutions and support to the CNC machine tool industry. This full-time position on our growing Automation Team is based in our Kansas City, MO office.Main responsibilities of this full-time position include:

  • Generate accurate sequence of operations, concept drawings for cell layouts, end of arm tooling and material handling using SolidWorks and AutoCAD
  • Create, write, and optimize robotic programs from concept to completion; 75% Logic and 25% Motion
  • Create, write, and optimize PLC, HMI and Vision programs
  • Assist with the assembly of special projects, upgrades, or retrofits
  • Ensure proper documentation is completed for all designs and any modifications to the original design
  • Ensures all activities are done safely and follow procedures and guidelines when working in a production environment
  • Continuously reviews current processes and procedures that make it easy for internal/external customers to do business with department/division.
  • Assist with the assembly of special projects (Fanuc Robots, Okuma Interfaces, etc.)
  • Research cost effective components and innovative solutions
  • Track project progress, project management, and assess results of completed projects
  • Monitor and present project reports accurately and timely
  • Implement and manage change when necessary to meet project milestones
  • Attend and actively participate in supplier and company sales training programs
  • Submit daily communication on achievements, roadblocks, and project milestones
  • Ability to travel overnight 10% of the time
  • Assume responsibility for related duties as required or assigned

The Skills

Individuals who ideally fit this role should meet the following qualifications:

  • Two-year degree in Electro-Mechanical Technology, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering preferred
  • Have strong working knowledge of Allen Bradley, Parker CTC, ACAD Electrical, etc.
  • Experience in machine tool processes and automation engineering preferred
  • Okuma machine programming experience preferred
  • Proficient in all aspects of Microsoft Office software, Gantt Charts, CAD software and personal computers
  • Demonstrated knowledge and application of automation, end of arm tooling and machine tending best practices
  • Strong mechanical/technical aptitude and background
  • Experience in electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment, PLC's, HMI's and robot platform and programming (Fanuc preferred)
  • Knowledge and understanding of current RIA safety standards
  • Experience with in-process/post process inspection (CMM's, contact and non-contact gages)
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, professional demeanor and customer confidence and relationship building abilities
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision or oversight
  • Capable of building lasting and trusting relationships with customers and vendors
  • Excellent attention to detail
