Job Overview:
FirstService Residential has various growth opportunities for maintenance professionals like you. Under the general supervision of the Director of Facilities Management, the employee will be responsible for creating a full-service plumbing department to service FirstService Residential – Missouri’s 200+ communities and its 30,000+ residents. The employee will be responsible for journey-level work in the installation, maintenance, inspection, modification, and repair of residential and commercial plumbing equipment and systems. This position is Full-Time, Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Your Responsibilities:
Under the general supervision of the Director of Facilities Management, the employee will be responsible for creating a full-service plumbing department to service FirstService Residential – Missouri’s 200+ communities and its 30,000+ residents. Under this new department, the employee will be responsible for hiring apprentice positions, bidding jobs, and managing projects. In addition, the employee will be responsible for journey-level work in the installation, maintenance, inspection, modification, and repair of residential and commercial plumbing equipment and systems.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Install, service and repair all aspects of residential and commercial plumbing fixtures and systems in accordance with local and state plumbing codes .
Diagnose plumbing related problems and code violations; recommend and implement appropriate repairs.
Ensure compliance of safe working practices and conditions in accordance with OSHA guidelines and regulations.
Maintain records of customer requests, services performed or other related dispatch information.
Work on a scheduled and on-call basis as assigned, responding to routine and emergency calls for repairs and service.
Additional Responsibilities:
Plans, monitors, and appraises plumbing bid job performance
Practice and adhere to FirstService Residential Global Service Standards.
Conduct business at all times with the highest standards of personal, professional and ethical conduct.
Perform or assist with any operations as required to maintain workflow and to meet schedules. Notify supervision of unusual equipment or operating problems and the need for additional material and supplies.
May participate in any variety of meetings and work groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems and maintain specified level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements, policies, and regulatory guidelines.
Ensure all safety precautions are followed while performing the work.
Follow all policies and Standard Operating Procedures as instructed by Management.

Education, Experience, and Requirements:
Minimum of five years’ experience in commercial and residential plumbing service work and installations preferred
Thorough knowledge of local, state and national plumbing codes
Exceptional customer service skills
Valid driver’s license
Knowledge, Skills, and Proficiencies:

High degree of technical knowledge related to all aspects of plumbing work
Understanding of residential and commercial plumbing systems, pumps, pressure reducing equipment, water heaters and recirculation systems
Understanding of drain, waste and vent systems
Basic computer skills, including email
Basic Smartphone knowledge and skills
Aptitude for identifying inefficiencies and offering improvement strategies
Strong communication and organizational skills
Consistent and prompt follow-up with customers
Good attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to prioritize work orders and project requests
Team player with collaborative attitude
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

Stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel and balance regularly
Lift and adjust heavy objects up to 50 lbs.
Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts
Contact with sharp, hot and/or very cold supplies and equipment

Travel:
Within the Kansas City metropolitan area. Must possess a valid driver's license and insurance and must not have a record of a revoked or suspended license as determined upon review of the motor vehicle driving report or record in accordance with applicable law.
Must possess the minimum essential motor vehicle insurance
Must have a personal vehicle that will be used for business purposes (mileage reimbursement provided).

Compensation: $28.00 - $35.00 per hour
