Overview

The Children’s Mercy Partial Hospitalization Program (CMPHP) and Intake Nurse Manager is responsible for development and oversight of daily operations for CMPHP. Partnering with administration, providers, and other departments to develop and monitor the long-range strategic plan and departmental goals and objectives. The CMPHP and Intake Nurse Manager provides direct leadership to clinical and non-clinical teams while using sound human resource and financial management principles and techniques to guide decision making.

Developmental and Behavioral Health Services at Children’s Mercy cares for children and teens who need extra support with developmental, psychiatric, or psychological concerns. We understand that a child’s mental, emotional, and behavioral health is an integral part of their well-being. A variety of outpatient services are offered to best meet the patient’s needs. Services include assessment through the Autism Clinic, Developmental Delay clinic, and outpatient clinical psychology. The Autism and Developmental Disorder Medical Clinic and Psychiatric Diagnosis and Medication Management Clinic provide experts that work together to find the right combination of medications and dosages to improve the patient’s wellbeing. Our nationally recognized care centers, The Eating Disorders Center and Tourette Center, offer a multi-disciplinary approach to serve the patient and their family.

Children’s Mercy Partial Hospitalization Program (CMPHP) is a structured intensive outpatient treatment program that serves as an avenue between inpatient admission and specialty ambulatory services. Our program is designed for children with medical complexities who are suffering with mental illness and neurodevelopmental behavioral patients. Our mission is to provide the healing support the child and family need to facilitate their transition back into the community

New employees must be willing to be vaccinated if found non-immune to measles, mumps, rubella (MMR) and chicken pox (varicella) and/or without evidence of tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis (Tdap) vaccination since 2005. If you are selected for this position, you will be asked to supply your immunization records as proof of vaccination. If you and have any concerns about receiving these vaccines, medical and/or religious exemptions can be further discussed with Human Resources.

Responsibilities

  • Personnel management.

  • Comprehensive unit management and development of programs and services.

  • Participates in department and organization performance improvement activities.

  • Fiscal management and accountability.

  • Actively participates and provides leadership for education programs, unit meetings and assigned committees.

  • Utilizes the nursing process to develop and implement a comprehensive plan of care for the patient/family which promotes optimal patient outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required

  • 1-2 years of leadership experience preferred

  • behavioral health experience preferred

  • 3-5 years as an RN preferred

  • Master's Degree preferred

  • One of the following: Licensed RN - Kansas, Registered Nurse Multistate License Kansas required upon hire

  • One of the following: Licensed RN - MO, Registered Nurse Multistate License Missouri required upon hire

  • Refer to Nursing and Advanced Practice Provider Licensure and Certification policy for required Life Support Certifications Required Upon Hire

  • Specialty Certification Required Upon Hire

Remote Work/Work from Home

This position is not eligible to work remotely, which means that the person hired will be required to work onsite at one of our Children’s Mercy locations and may not work from home.
