Ervin Cable Outside Plant Design Manager in Kansas City, Missouri
Are you an experienced engineering professional with a passion for leading complex projects and driving program success? As as OSP Design Manager, you’ll oversee critical engineering programs, ensuring they are completed with accuracy, efficiency, and profitability. This role combines strategic leadership, data-driven decision-making, and team coordination to deliver excellence in telecommunications engineering.
In order to perform this job, you must demonstrate by experience or training:
Proven experience managing large-scale programs or high-volume projects in a fast-paced environment.
Strong understanding of telecommunications network structures and architectures.
Ability to read and analyze technical documents, including highway/road prints, and identify conflicts with telecommunications facilities.
Exceptional critical thinking, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in engineering software and advanced data management tools.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to lead cross-functional teams and foster collaboration.
Ability to thrive with minimal supervision and effectively prioritize multiple responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
Lead and manage multiple high-impact engineering programs, ensuring all goals for accuracy, timeliness, and profitability are met.
Develop and implement program-specific methodologies and tracking systems to monitor progress and resolve issues.
Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to coordinate activities, resolve conflicts, and achieve program objectives.
Analyze and interpret complex data to identify opportunities, mitigate risks, and enhance program outcomes.
Maintain and organize program documentation while ensuring data integrity and accessibility.
Utilize tools like Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel to present data insights and track performance metrics.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (GIS, Geography, Urban Planning, Computer Science) or 5+ years’ related experience
Proficient in the use of hardware and software (PCs, Tablets, IKE, ArcMap, Ocalc Pro, CAD, ArcGIS, Google, etc.)
Advanced proficieny in assigned function (Drafting, Designing, Make Ready, Geographic Information Systems, etc.)
Authorized to work in the United States
Successful completion of pre-employment drug screen, background, and motor vehicle record check
