Amentum Forklift Operator in Kansas City, Missouri

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for forklift/Forms Inventory supply operations at work site level including receiving, storage, issue, delivery and accountability of all items required in support of work site.

  • Supervised by project manager or site lead.

  • General knowledge of basic hand tool usage is required.

  • Basic knowledge of Outlook, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel is preferred. -Willing to assist coworkers with workloads beyond Forms Inventory.

  • Knowledge of inventory management systems is preferred.

  • Stacking goods in the correct storage bays, following inventory control instructions.

  • Ensuring loads are properly secure, including performing material handling procedures to correctly stack, palletize, ship, and move material.

  • Stacking and storage of empty pallets, crates, etc.

  • Performing daily equipment checks such as recharging the truck’s battery and lubricating equipment.

  • Unloading materials and merchandise from incoming vehicles and stacking them to assigned places.

  • Locate and move stock of products to pallets or crates for storage or shipment.

  • Identify damages and report shortages or quality deficiencies.

  • Perform a variety of warehousing duties that require an understanding of the establishment’s storage plan.

  • Operate tools and equipment in performance of duties as approved per management.

  • Operates a manually controlled gasoline, electric or liquid propane gas powered forklift to transport goods and materials of all kinds within a warehouse.

  • Observes and follows all safety rules and procedures, including wearing required personal safety equipment.

  • Performs all housekeeping and maintenance duties as needed to ensure workspace upkeep.

  • Performs all other duties as assigned, requested, or related, unless otherwise excluded by this description or the established collective bargaining agreement.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.

  • Twelve months job related experience and/or training is required.

  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.

  • Position requires the need to pass and maintain a Staff-Like Access Clearance for the IRS. Note: US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location.
