Position Summary:

Are you ready to take the reins of financial leadership and make a significant impact on our organization's success? We're seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking Controller to guide our day-to-day accounting activities and shape our financial future. As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to prepare insightful financial analyses, implement best practices, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Your leadership will be instrumental in driving our fiscal soundness and operational effectiveness.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Development, analysis, and interpretation of statistical and accounting information in order to appraise operating results in terms of profitability, performance against budget, and other matters bearing on the fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness of the organization.
  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes and prepare financial statements, comparing actual results to budgeted and prior period performance.
  • Ensure timely submission of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting for distribution to the Parent Company and Internal management.
  • Manage the Accounts Payable group.
  • Provide recommendations for process improvement and enhancements to financial policies.
  • Maintain the chart of accounts and ensure that general ledger account reconciliations are prepared in a timely manner.
  • Participate in monthly review meetings of financial and operational results.
  • Prepare information and coordinate the company's efforts to support the external annual audit.
  • Assist in negotiating and structuring arrangements with vendors.
  • Responsible for evaluating the performance of personnel in the Accounting Department. This individual recommends training requirements, has the duty to keep the staff at the highest level of skill necessary to meet company needs and objectives.
  • Maintains the company's system of accounts and keeps books and records on all company transactions and assets.
  • Establishes financial accounting policies and procedures for the company and prepares reports that outline the company's financial position in the areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and future operations.
  • Is responsible for all statutory tax filings compliance with all federal, state, and local agencies.
  • Furnishes internal reports, revises and updates reports to be more useful and efficient and furnishes external reports as necessary.
  • Determines depreciation rates to apply to capitalized items and advises management on desirable operational adjustments due to tax revisions.
  • Prepares and coordinates work papers/reports in conjunction with the outside CPA's in order to issue audited financial statement at year end.

Ideal candidate will possess: 

-Master’s degree in accounting or related field

-Strong knowledge of GAAP

-Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization is essential.

-Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis.

-High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation

-Ability to manage changing priorities, multi-task, and exhibit an orientation to detail.

-Ability to handle confidential information in a sensitive manner and to keep all employee information confidential.

Minimum Qualifications:

-Bachelor’s degree in accounting

-Certified Public Accountant (CPA)

-5+ years progressive experience in managing accounting.

-Proficiency with collaboration and analytical tools found within Microsoft Office 365 as well as other modern platforms.

-Ability to manage changing priorities, multi-task, and exhibit an orientation to detail.
