Position Summary

The accounting leadership position of Accounting Manager, Wholegoods will have primary responsibility for the accounting function specific to our wholegoods revenue recognition and inventory control. With revenues in this segment of approximately $1B, this role will have core accounting responsibility around the development and communication of management reporting, wholegood inventory methodologies, and a deep dive understanding of the division’s performance. As the Wholegood Accounting Manager, you will work closely with the senior accounting leadership, supply chain operations and sales division management across both US and Canada facilities related to this truck production business unit.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Leading and ensuring the monthly financials for wholegood sales are timely and accurately depicted in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

  • Providing the management team with monthly management reporting on sales, gross profit, inventory aging analysis, and wholegood turns and consumption including developing new reporting.

  • Plan, organize, and direct all the activities of wholegood inventory accounting function including revenue recognition, customer deposit and reserve calculations.

  • Manage day to day operations of the existing wholegoods inventory and sales process- including monthly account reconciliations, roll-forward documentation, and analysis of account balances and trends.

  • Support internal and external financial and process audits including responsibility for SOX controls of this area.

  • Provide guidance, support, and processes for annual physical count and reconciliation of wholegoods inventories; quarterly cycle counts of key inventory

  • Provide guidance, training, and work reviews for accounting staff; and provide advice and consultation to management.

  • Ability to accurately prepare daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual management reports • Identify problem areas or situations, evaluate root cause(s), and take appropriate action to resolve issues.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years of accounting experience, manufacturing or inventory experience preferred. Management/supervision of staff for some portion of this time.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business or higher

  • Must have excellent analytical skills

  • Sound understanding of accounting principals

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • Significant experience with continuous improvement around undefined processes

  • Strong quantitative and analytical competency • Good organizational and time management skills

  • Knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley rules, regulations, and practices

  • Self-starter with excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills

  • Advanced knowledge of Excel

  • Positive attitude and works well with a team.
