Position Title:   Staff Structural Engineers

 

Job Description:

Perform structural design of projects from the conceptual phase through design completion. Modify and review production drawings for a variety of projects. Design structural components for project needs and requirements that are set forth by the project managers. Applies strong knowledge of commonly used structural engineering/design concepts, principles, practices, codes, and procedures within the structural engineering services industry. Research and compile project related data as required by the project managers. Update drawings provided by senior engineers to verify corrections are incorporated properly. Compile information for client presentations, shop drawing review, and contract administration for the design of a variety of facilities. Performs field inspections, measurements, or calculations for public and private clients. Telecommuting is allowed up to 30 days per year. Primarily domestic travel up to 10% of the time is required. Job Requirements:

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a directly related field from an ABET accredited program plus three (3) years of structural engineering experience.

Must have three (3) years of experience in each of the following:

  • Standard structural engineering techniques and procedures.
  • Structural analysis programs, RISA 3D, STAAD Pro, ETABS, or SAFE.
  • CAD programs, AutoCAD, MicroStation, or Revit.
  • Performing rigid bus analysis and the design of electrical substation steel structures, equipment foundations, structure foundations and secondary oil containment.
  • Performing field inspections and compliance documentation.
  • Leading a team of single- or multi-discipline professionals to ensure project success.

Alternatively, the employer will also accept a Master's degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a directly related field from an ABET accredited program plus two (2) years of structural engineering experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree plus three (3) years of described experience.

Must have two (2) years of experience in each of the following:

  • Standard structural engineering techniques and procedures.
  • Structural analysis programs, RISA 3D, STAAD Pro, ETABS, or SAFE.
  • CAD programs, AutoCAD, MicroStation, or Revit.
  • Performing rigid bus analysis and the design of electrical substation steel structures, equipment foundations, structure foundations and secondary oil containment.
