Description

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Tax Accountant to join our team in Kansas City, Kansas. This role will be focused on sales and use tax accounting across multiple states. As a Tax Accountant, you will be handling tax-related tasks, maintaining accurate records, and using your skills in Microsoft Excel, Tax - Sales & Use, and Account Reconciliation to ensure a smooth and efficient operation.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the processing and filing of sales and use tax returns across multiple states

• Utilize Microsoft Excel to maintain and manage tax-related data

• Conduct account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance

• Review and respond to tax-related inquiries from customers and stakeholders

• Monitor and update customer accounts regarding tax-related issues

• Assist in the preparation of tax reports and summaries for management

• Keep up-to-date with current tax practices and changes in tax law

• Ensure compliance with state and federal tax regulations

• Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely tax reporting

• Assist in tax-related projects as required

Requirements

• Applicant must hold a minimum of one year of experience in a related field.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.

• Knowledge and experience in Tax - Sales & Use is necessary.

• Ability to perform Account Reconciliation accurately and efficiently.

• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion.

• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.

• Good organizational skills and the ability to prioritize work effectively.

• Detail-oriented and capable of producing high quality work under deadlines.

• Familiarity with tax software and digital databases.
