Job Title: Stationary Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Stationary Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will spend most of your time in the powerhouse, reading meters, and diagnosing problems. Your responsibilities will include opening and closing valves, understanding steam pressure, mixing and adding chemicals to machinery, and operating and maintaining various systems and equipment. You will also be expected to complete all Preventative Maintenance on all Powerhouse and associated equipment. As a Stationary Engineer, you are expected to coordinate as a team to effectively provide 24/7 operations to all Plant Utilities Systems. You will participate in problem-solving and resolution geared towards continuous improvement to achieve customer satisfaction, stable operational efficiency, and energy-saving initiatives. You will also be responsible for ensuring all safety incidents are reported within the appropriate timeframe and contain the level of detail required by the Safety Department. This role requires attendance at all planning and coordination meetings as directed across a wide spectrum of project assignments.

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s).

Work Environment

The environment can be wet and/or humid with moving mechanical equipment and can be loud at times. The culture is a union environment that can be high stress at times. Workers in this group are self-sufficient and quick learners. The team size is 12-15 total, including 2 Mechanics and 8 Stationary Engineers. The dress code is jeans and a polo.
