Job Description
Perform network administration support and analysis functions by ensuring the uptime, performance, resource availability, and security of the networks managed according to operational guidelines. Monitor network devices, interfaces and applications for connectivity and optimal performance. Provide network support to users and identify and troubleshoot routine problems. Communicate networking issues to internal or external customers and to next level Administrator. Identify opportunities for how network performance can be improved. Work independently and receive general guidance on new work activity.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Monitor network devices, interfaces and applications via LogicMonitor
Correlate multiple network and customer issues identified with alarms / alerts received
Create and track incident tickets and assignments
Create and assign incident tickets based on priority, impact, and complexity to appropriate fix agents
Issue outage notification event communications
Initiate major outage communication technical bridges
Escalate incidents according to process
Complete service level tasks, including IP address requests, DNS requests, and account provisioning requests
Install and test network software including upgrades, fixes, and patches
Implement and utilize network monitoring and performance tools
Perform periodic cabling efforts (installs, changes, removals)
Interface with internal and external customers to troubleshoot and resolve network issues
Educate end users on technology
Keep up to date on industry trends and continuously enhance professional expertise and knowledge
Adhere to established policies, processes and procedures

Requirements
Education and Experience
Associate degree in computer science, information technology, or related technical curriculum, or equivalent practical work experience (work experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis)
1-3 years of progressive network administration or related experience including
utilizing CISCO network equipment
monitoring, network diagnostic, and network analytics tools
configuring and deploying layer 2 and layer 3 internetworking devices, specifically Cisco products
configuring and monitoring Cisco WLAN Controllers
troubleshooting network related issues
implementing and utilizing network monitoring and performance tools
installing and testing network software including upgrades, fixes, and patches
Experience using Visio, Word, and Excel
Certification and/or License – CCNA or equivalent Cisco certifications preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Able to work individually with limited supervision
Able to demonstrate strong sense of professionalism, integrity, and ethics
Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing to technical and non-technical audiences
Able to troubleshoot operational difficulties and problems
Skill in analytical thinking, including research, interpreting data, and analyzing information
Able to maintain confidentiality
Knowledge of and skill in software applications, such as Excel, Word, Visio, and Outlook
Must be able to read, write and speak English
