KANE COUNTY Prevention Project & Volunteer Center Coordinator in KANAB, Utah
Position is full time with benefits.
Works under the supervision of the Kane County Attorney. Position located at the Kane County Courthouse. This fulltime position devotes approximately half of the time as a Prevention Project Coordinator and half of the time as a Volunteer Center Coordinator. As a staff member of the Kane County Attorney Office, may be asked to provide duties assigned to Legal Assistant I, II, or III.
Prevention Project Coordinator Functions - Assists the Kane Community Coalition (KCC) and Kane County Youth Coalition (KCYC) to prevent substance abuse and suicide. Adult Advisor or Assistant Advisor to KCYC. May be required to attend annual conferences out of state with youth. Develops and advocates systemic policy changes with agencies and businesses in Kane County. Works with various community partners to foster prevention. Receives general trainings needed for position, and may become qualified to provide various prevention related trainings to community partners.
Volunteer Center Coordinator Functions - Manages the ongoing operations of the county volunteer program to foster volunteerism generally and to support various public agencies and initiatives with volunteers. Identifies local, state and federal grant programs for volunteerism. Writes and prepares grant applications with support. Maintains grants with support. Implements recruitment, enrollment, and placement of volunteers. Maintains various records of volunteer information. Works with the Kane County Recovery Court participants and other criminal defendants who have court-ordered community service hours. Performs related duties as required.
Qualifications: Graduation from a high school or equivalent and one year of experience in an office or similar setting, or a combination of education and experience; Must pass standard background check; Must possess and maintain a valid Utah Driver's License.
