Clean Harbors Water Project Supervisor in Kalkaska, Michigan

Clean Harbors is seeking a Water Project Supervisor . The Water Project Supervisor is primarily responsible for leading crews of environmental technicians between 1-10 personnel. This position will oversee the construction and installation of water and air remediation systems. This position is responsible for activities at customer sites and helping with onsite projects. 95-100% travel required.

**This position requires experience with water and/or air filtrations systems troubleshooting, construction of systems, plumping, and mechanical ability to assemble such systems.

Location: Can live anywhere in the United States. Needs to be open to travel all over the United States and occasionally overseas to assist with projects.

Pay: $24-30 DOE, extensive OT possible; $55 a night per diem available all over nights out of town; some jobs are prevailing wage jobs. All travel expenses covered, flights both way and private room.

Time Off: 5 weeks on duty, 10 days off.

Travel Details: Per Diem available daily, hourly competitive pay rates, travel costs covered by the company.

Join a team with a focus on safely executing large technical remediation, environmental construction, and transportation/disposal projects across the country and internationally. Work with a customer base across several lines of business, including regulator, government, and military. Collaborate with other industry professionals across our Sales, Landfill, Incineration, Transportation, TSDF, and local office network leveraging the companies turn-key approach to projects and customer service. Lead teams comprised of foreman, equipment operators, and other professionals. Travel to new locations to meet customers and field personnel and see projects in action. Work with support from administrators, senior managers, and other support personnel and teams. All travel to/from your home airport and the project is covered. Additional annual reimbursement for maintaining certain licenses including a drone pilot’s license. Paid training and tuition reimbursement plus paid continuing education opportunities. Live anywhere in the continental United States and travel to various sites all over the country (95-100% travel).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times;

  • Meet with customers/Project Managers as needed to ensure customer satisfaction and to resolve any pending complaints or issues;

  • Builds water/air treatment systems, troubleshoots equipment issues, knowledge in construction trenching, plumbing and the ability to read and follow blue prints;

  • Oversee projects for Health and Safety, profitability, completeness and professionalism;

  • Responsible for H&S issues surrounding projects assigned, including reviewing operational procedures to assure correct H&S action plans and communicate effectively with the H&S organization regarding onsite specific action;

  • Enforce and ensure OSHA, EPA and H&S standards or regulations are complaint;

  • Responsible for the timely reporting of work-related accidents or incidents to immediate supervisor;

  • Performs other duties and tasks as assigned from time to time by management and will be required by the needs of the Clean Harbors business.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum High School education required;

  • Experience in water/air remediation/ filtration projects required;

  • BS/BA in Science related field Preferred;

  • Emergency response supervisor training and Marine Spill Response training preferred;

  • Knowledge of Federal, state and local environmental regulations;

  • Knowledge of various types of water/air filtration equipment;

  • Proficiency in Windows based applications.

  • 2-4 years supervisory experience preferred;

  • Ability to travel 95-100%;

  • Valid Driver’s license with 3-year clean MVR required.
