Job Description

Purpose

The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for completing a variety of tasks to support the daily operations of the HR department, including talent acquisition, benefits and compensation, performance management, training and development, leave administrations and enforcing company policies and practices. The ideal candidate possesses outstanding analytical and communication skills, is a conceptual thinker with fantastic organizational and conflict management skills. You will have excellent negotiation and problem solving skills with the ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment. This is a full-time temporary position, Monday- Friday 40 hours/week.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with all internal and external HR related matters.

  • Participate in the development, implementation and evaluation of human resource and organizational guidelines and procedures.

  • Respond to employees’ queries and resolve issue in a timely and professional manner.

  • Completed verbal and written employment verification requests received from employers and other third-parties.

  • Investigate complaints brought forward by employees.

  • Assist with the design of and coordination of training and employee development plans and performance management.

  • Manage the HR systems and prepare reports.

  • Assist with the management of employee benefit programs including health and life insurance programs and Retirement Savings Plan.

  • Produce and submit reports on general HR activity.

  • Assist with Human Resources projects and initiatives, as needed.

  • Keep up-to-date with the latest HR trends and best practice.

  • Perform other duties as directed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field and 1 year of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Deep understanding of Labor Law and employment equity regulations.

  • Efficient HR administration and people management skills.

  • Excellent record keeping skills.

  • Fantastic knowledge of HR functions and best practices.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Works comfortably under pressure and meets tight deadlines.

  • Superb computer literacy with capability in email, MS Office and related HR software.

  • Remarkable organizational and conflict management skills.

  • Strong decision-making and problem solving skills.

  • Meticulous attention to detail.
