The Senior Manager, Creative Content Technology oversees the creative system strategy, implementation, adoption and integration efforts. In this role, you will lead the integration of Adobe systems – AEM Assets, Firefly, Workfront, Express across Newell’s content supply chain. This includes master-minding AI tools and custom models to develop new and innovative ways to build product content and all related marketing materials, accelerate visual assets management and the quality control, and simplify project coordination. The Senior Manager leads a team of designers, generative design specialists, and project managers.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads the process from imagination to deployment of new integrations, content systems, custom models, scripting, and generative design tools to accelerate on-brand content creation and approvals.

  • Supports the Director of Marketing & Commercial Excellence in leading the overall content supply chain transformation of Newell Brands tied to the Adobe toolset implementation and operations

  • Leads a dedicated workflow and process SME on behalf of Communication Design team in partnership with Design Operations

  • Works collaboratively with design leadership, design SMEs, and Adobe team to develop GenAI masterplan as it relates to creative work. Assist in definition and prioritization of key use cases including use case to value mapping.

  • Works collaboratively with design leadership, design SMEs, IT, data governance, and Adobe team to develop DAM strategy. Support configuration of DAM workflow uploads and lifecycle workflows. Participates in working sessions to define asset information architecture, including taxonomy, metadata, asset lifecycle and definitions

  • Collaborates with Design Operations and IT to execute the Workfront masterplan. Participate in working sessions to gather required inputs on workflow and process as it relates to Workfront

  • Manage and gather feedback on user acceptance testing (UAT) on behalf of the Communication Design team

  • Supports the Director, Creative in building tools and creative componentry to steward visual brand identity across all consumer touchpoints. Guides the Creative and Copy teams to leverage generative AI tools in translating the brand visual identity guidelines into concrete creative solutions.

  • Supports the implementation of generative AI tools to support the development of the brand style guide including logo, product branding (online/offline), typography, packaging, photography, illustration, multimedia, video, and activation materials.

  • Leads brainstorming sessions to generate creative generative AI ideas and fosters an environment conducive to best-in-class creative development. Collaborates with Senior Manager, Creative design peers to gather feedback on how creative tools can be integrated into day-to-day creative work.

  • Accountable for leading a dedicated creative team to produce highly effective creative executions utilizing the creative tools, including brand identity, packaging, point-of-purchase, promotions, print/web advertising, web design, e-commerce, email marketing, social media content, direct mail, collateral, video, and events.

  • Work to understand where creative Generative AI will impact proper use of messaging framework and call-to-action strategy for Omnichannel and eCommerce marketing vehicles (emails, banner ads, SEM copy, landing pages, brand pages, etc.).

  • Uses appropriate decision-making and approval processes in a timely manner.

  • Participates in and helps organize recruiting events.

  • Performs other tasks as needed

Qualifications:

  • University degree or college diploma in graphic design, art or related field. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • 10+ years of experience in a creative/graphic design position, including 3-5+ years experience managing creative teams, and 3+ years of experience leading the development and execution of multi-channel content (e.g. development of copy, photography, video, rich media, campaigns, digital shelf: landing pages, product listing, product detail, banners, pages on retailer websites including but not limited to Amazon.com, Target.com, and Walmart.com etc.

  • Respected and trusted leader with a proven track record of achievement, and proven experience managing a team at varying levels of work.

  • Strong decision-making skills and an understanding of where projects fit into overall Company and development strategies.

  • Creative Leadership: Experience leading the creative development and related executions for a brand. Strong interpersonal skills with ability to:

  • Demonstrate passion for a brand and infuse other people with that passion.

  • Achieve bold outcomes with clear vision, direction, planning and management.

  • Drive consensus, foster creative collaboration.

  • Lead and develop meetings and brainstorming sessions.

  • Work directly with both internal and external partners in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

  • Art Direction: Ability to direct creative projects on a broad scale. Deep in a detailed understanding of all design components required, including:

  • Implementation of the best design tools and practices to reflect required brand targets. Current on market context, design trends, technology and art.

  • Demonstrates mastery in design architecture deployment.

  • Deep expertise in experience design development, photography, illustration, production. Practitioner and thought leadership around design techniques, trends and multi-channel innovation.

  • Mastery in programs for advanced design development and program applications/efficiencies. Utilize multiple programs and digital tools for rigorous design exploration and concept development. Video editing/motion graphics experience a plus

  • Commercial photo studio experience a plus

  • Understanding of best practices to leverage UX/UI. Able to direct, commission, and organize UI/UX research where applicable leveraging vendors and internal expert teams.

  • Highly detail oriented. Excellent business acumen.

  • Strong time management skills. Demonstrates a high degree of flexibility within tight deadlines.

  • Exceptional written, verbal and visual communication skills. Exceptional presentation skills.

  • Pragmatic with excellent problem solving and decision-making skills.

  • Coding (HTML/CSS) knowledge and understanding of best practices in mobile-first and responsive web development

  • Ability to travel as needed
