Position Specific Description

Individuals must be currently enrolled in a Master's Degree Program and have a cummulative 3.0 GPA in-order to qualify

You will become a member of a Digital transformation team, leveraging Data Science in automating different tasks of the plant operation such as preventive & predictive maintenance, work scheduling and planning and engineering procedures. This will be performed based on Enterprise and IoT data stored in the cloud. You will contribute to the implementation of a state-of-the-art Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning technologies in an actual high-end industrial platform to achieve a “smart” and more efficient plant operations

Tasks:

  • Develop Machine Learning models using state of the art technologies such as Generative AI

  • Collaborate in the implementation of the Data Science models in Nextera AWS platform

  • Contribute to the expansion of the IoT technology usage and its integration with Artificial Intelligence

  • Develop novel approaches based on the latest in the Natural Language Processing (NLP), Computer Vision and Time Series Analysis to fulfill business requirements

  • Collaborate in leveraging artificial intelligence for other technologies such as Robotics, Wearables and Virtual Reality/Augmented Reality

Required Skills:

  • Must be currently enrolled in a Master's Degree Program

  • Bachelor level in a technology field

  • Knowledge of the basic concepts of Machine Learning

  • Programing skills in Python or R with a special focus on machine learning packages such as pandas and sklearn

  • Experience in Deep Learning platforms such as TensorFlow

  • Knowledge of SQL language

  • Capacity and eagerness to learn new technologies

  • An innovative mindset to challenge norms and devise unique solutions

  • Good Communication skills

Preferred Skills:

  • Background in statistics

  • Experience in AWS cloud technologies

Job Overview

This position is responsible for developing algorithms, modeling techniques, and optimization methods that support many aspects of NextEra and FPL business. Employees in this role use knowledge of machine learning, optimization, statistics, and applied mathematics along with abilities in software engineering with a focus on distributed computing and data storage infrastructure (i.e., “Big Data”).

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develops machine learning, optimization and other modeling solutions

  • Prepares comprehensive documented observations, analyses and interpretations of results including technical reports, summaries, protocols and quantitative analyses

  • Works with big data and distributed computing platforms

  • Develops software and contributes to product development

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
