Position Specific Description
The Sr. Project Manager will work with new technology developers to originate, structure, seek approval for and oversee development of first-of-a-kind projects.
NextEra Energy Resources is seeking an experience technical developer to join our Strategy & Product Solutions team as a Sr. Project Manager. The Strategy & Product Solutions team is responsible for identifying emerging technologies across the energy sector that could enhance the product offerings provided by NextEra. Our team leads new technology pilots and demonstrations, works with portfolio companies to develop first-of-a-kind commercial technology projects, leads technology focused venture capital investing for Energy Resources, and leads strategic efforts supporting integration and adoption of new technologies across the company.
The Sr. Project Manager will lead the development of first of a kind projects with responsibilities that include engagement with technology developers, internal business units and third-party customers to create unique commercial agreements and refine technology for initial commercial deployments. An ideal candidate will possess a foundational technical knowledge and have a strong understanding of energy markets and infrastructure development.

Present project opportunities to senior leadership for approval
Design and implement new processes and procedures for deployment of novel technologies
Support new technology pilots and demonstrations
Support technical diligence of new technologies

This job is responsible for resource allocation, schedules, cost and technical adequacy, ensuring the project or transaction is completed in the most cost-effective and competitive manner. This position manages all aspects of the business deal and ensures the project is completed on time and within budgetary constraints.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Manages all aspects of the day-to-day transaction process to ensure timely completion as well as a cost-effective and competitive result
Leads and coordinates key functions such as financial feasibility analyses, engineering/design, project legal review, permitting activities and financial negotiations
Responsible for managing multiple and complex projects
Coordinates due diligence activities with other internal groups to ensure proper analysis and structuring of assigned projects
Acts as liaison between internal and external specialists regarding procurement, contracting, permitting and interconnection
Constructs contractual arrangements for project development
Negotiates agreements with consultants and subcontractors
Ensures compliance with applicable technical and regulatory requirements
Fosters external relationships with customers, third parties and members of the community
Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
High School Grad/GED
Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Experience
