The Project Director role will be within EverBright’s Strategic Partnerships & Business Development team. This role will create opportunities for new products, working cross-functionally and with EverBright and NextEra leadership, with the goal of delivering desirable outcomes for homeowners and maximizing EverBright’s strategic positioning and revenue. This role requires a blend of collaboration, project management, operational execution, business acumen and an in-depth understanding of all the activities involved in delivering a full solution that delights our customers and advances EverBright’s mission. The role will suit someone who enjoys challenging the status quo, has a real passion for delivering results and helping others, and has strong interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills. The role will include travel throughout the U.S, up to 25% as needed.

As a Project Director at EverBright, you will lead feasibility studies and risk assessments to assess the viability of new ventures, developing comprehensive business cases and financial models to inform strategic decisions. You will be responsible for negotiating, structuring, and finalizing partnership agreements that align with EverBright’s growth targets, while also leading the design and implementation of innovative product offerings across various channels. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with finance, leadership, and technology teams to track performance metrics, operationalize strategic partnerships, drive strategic initiatives, and explore new market opportunities for business expansion.

Key Tasks

• Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to determine the viability of new ventures and develop business cases and financial models to support strategic business decisions.

• Negotiate, structure, and finalize deals and partnership agreements that further EverBright’s strategic goals and enhance its market position and growth targets.

• Lead the ideation, design, and implementation of new and innovative product offerings throughout EverBright’s sales, operations, and installation channels.

• Provide strategic assessments and operating reviews of new and current business ventures and operations.

• Work closely with Finance to develop and track program business case results and metrics, and to incorporate targets into budget.

• Identify, evaluate, and pursue advantageous new business opportunities, including strategic partnerships, alliances, joint ventures, mergers, acquisitions, and organic growth initiatives.

• Oversee and manage a variety of highly prioritized projects, as well as complete ad-hoc projects, requests, and analysis.

• Conduct in-depth industry research and an understanding of the market environment, including short- and long-term trends, competitor offerings, customer preferences, regulatory developments etc. to identify potential growth areas and emerging trends.

• Operationalizing critical strategic partnerships - top projects within the company.

• Strong focus on and partnership with technology to further the technology transformation.

• Work with both department level leadership to drive their agendas and partner with them to identify, evaluate, prioritize, and deliver strategic initiatives across the business.

• Explore new markets and opportunities for EverBright’s products and services and develop and execute market entry strategies for expansion into new regions or industries.

• Drive internal approval and consensus building.

• Provide strategic thought leadership to advise and structure initiatives, identify key themes, develop mitigation plans, and make connections of opportunities across functional areas and regions.

EverBright's Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's – Sciences, Engineering, Mathematics

• Master's - Business Administration

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in Strategy or Business Development

• Strong understanding of residential solar financial and business models, current trends, emerging technologies, and commercial opportunities

• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and presentation skills

• Ability to collaborate, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and solve complex problems

Job Overview

Employees in this role develop and execute plans for new or enhanced generation projects. This job is responsible for resource allocation, schedules, cost and technical adequacy, ensuring the project or transaction is completed in the most cost effective and competitive manner. This position manages all aspects of the business deal and ensures the project is completed on time and within budgetary constraints.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manages all aspects of the day to day transaction process to ensure timely completion as well as a cost effective and competitive results

  • Leads and coordinates key functions such as financial feasibility analyses, engineering/design, project legal review, permitting activities and financial negotiations

  • Coordinates due diligence activities with other internal groups to ensure proper analysis and structuring of assigned projects

  • Acts as liaison between internal and external specialists regarding procurement, contracting, permitting and interconnection

  • Constructs contractual arrangements for project development

  • Negotiates agreements with consultants and subcontractors

  • Ensures compliance with applicable technical and regulatory requirements

  • Fosters external relationships with customers, third parties and members of the community

  • Identifies opportunities and negotiates power sales contracts

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
