Position Specific Description

Specific responsibilities include:

• Scheduling wholesale power purchases and sales as required to satisfy bilateral commitments and plant obligations.

• Ensure scheduling processes take place in a correct and timely manner and comply with requirements specified by the regional reliability entity, FERC and NERC.

• Validate accuracy of bilateral commitment and portfolio obligations and resolve discrepancies or schedule imbalances as required.

• Work with Traders and Managers to create daily unit commitment plans and generation offers for NEER and Energy Management Services (EMS) Customer assets.

• Submitting virtual offers and bids (INCS and DECS) required to coordinate hedge positions with asset positions.

• Submitting Financial Schedules associated with power purchase agreements in various energy markets.

• Submitting revenue meter data for generation and load assets.

• Submitting Demand Bids associated with load following contracts.

• Assist traders and back office personnel in portfolio settlement reconciliations.

• Act as subject matter expert regarding ISO/RTO market rules associated with assigned regions.

• Develop/update processes and procedures associated with assigned responsibilities.

• Other duties may apply.

This job is responsible for transacting short-term energy or gas purchases/sales. Employees in this role develop, communicate, and execute trading strategies with guidance.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Monitors market conditions and analyzes transactions to help in identifying and executing energy trades

  • Ensures transaction terms are beneficial to the organization and meet risk guidelines

  • Optimizes economics to assure minimum energy supply costs and maximizes profits for generation portfolio

  • Determines generation requirements and coordinates fuel procurement to meet obligations

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
