This position is responsible for performing service-related tasks and commissioning of emission control systems within the North America Clean Air Solutions Service Team. The incumbent will work closely with external customers, the technology department engineers, commercial, product supply and quality.

Your responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoots mechanical, electrical and/or emission control systems, including the catalyst, in the field with support from the Clean Air Solutions Engineering Team.

  • Perform, coordinate, and/or supervise the field installation of emission control equipment and systems for stationary engines, gas turbines, power plant boilers, and chemical & industrial processes.

  • Large mobile engines such as locomotives and marine applications are also included.

  • Includes the supervision and/or hiring direct contractors when necessary to perform work on-site and customer locations.

  • Provide a high level of customer support and service for JM systems both over the phone and on-site including the installation and start-up, sampling, inspections, troubleshooting, training and periodic maintenance.

  • Utilize a portable emission analyzer to measure and record exhaust emissions to tune SCR systems, which ensure compliance with project specifications and performance guarantees.

  • Writes and issues detailed service and/or commissioning reports for the customer and JM organization, including descriptions of the completed work, defects, and recommended improvements for the future.

  • Completes regular expense reporting to ensure service orders are invoiced in a timely manner.

  • Develops and submits proposals for service opportunities, including commissioning, spare parts, system upgrades, and annual service & maintenance agreements.

  • Recommends product improvements to Clean Air Solutions engineering and assists in the development of new products to ensure the product or system meets the design specifications and performance requirements.

  • Manage and maintain inventory of critical spare parts, tools, and emission measuring equipment.

  • Supports warranty and customer claim activities through the claim support system.

  • Develops strong working relationships with customers and within the JM organization.

  • Completes Job Safety Analysis (JSA) forms for all service work and work permits for any hazardous tasks.

  • Ensures adherence to business/JM EHS/regulatory standards within multiple projects and is active at following EHS standards.

  • Comply with all federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations and requirements.

  • Comply with JM company policies.

  • Other duties as assigned or required.

Requirements for the role:

  • BSc Degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Chemical or equivalent technical field experience with engines and emission control systems for similar applications & customers desirable.

  • Minimum 2-3 years of professional experience in engineering or technical environment.

  • Strong knowledge of internal combustion engines or turbines along with relevant field experience of emission control systems or exhaust systems.

  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings (i.e. mechanical layout, wiring diagrams, etc,) and specifications.

  • Demonstrates the ability to read and understand technical specifications.

  • Experience working with PLC controlled electro-mechanical equipment, and knowledge of process control software & ladder logic desirable.

  • Fundamental knowledge of MS Office Suite

  • Ability to work in a matrix organization with multi-cultural team, as well as with customer(s).

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation, organization, and influencing skills.

  • Experience in emission control catalysis and good working knowledge of catalyst design desirable.

  • Experience in Engine Test Cell operations and emissions testing desirable.
